Hen Night Games and Tasks

So you finally have everything booked and confirmed, the hotel, activities and meals are all paid for, you’ve got all of the money in off the girls and everybody is getting in party mode ready for the big weekend. It’s now time to start thinking about a few choice hen night games for the event, after all these can be the difference between a good night out and a great one. Don’t let your best friend’s big night become a mediocre affair, plan ahead and have a few hen party challenges up your sleeve.

There is a seemingly limitless number of options available to you here, over the years people have created and updated so many scavenger hunts, drinking challenges and truth or dare variations that the real problem is whittling the options down to two or three which you particular group will love. Hen party games are what make the night special; different to any other night out with the girls and for this reason you really need to consider the options. While it may be tempting to go for a variation of truth or dare for example, this is something people will most likely have done before so you need to put a spin on it to make it unique and most of all remember that while all of the group should be involved in these activities the hen should definitely be the centre of attention.

Some Ready Made Hen Night Game Ideas:

Here's a few ideas that you might want to incorporate in to your hen night:

Limitations

It's essential that you bear in mind who's going to be in your group and where you are going to be, if you have the mother of the groom coming along then many options are probably not a great idea. Even truth or dare can cause more than a little embarrassment in certain situations and certainly think twice before telling the hen to latch on to the nearest man (this sort of thing should be thought through seriously even if the in-laws aren’t around). Consider the environment you’re going to be in, any hen night games which require the removal of any clothing for example might not be a great idea in Edinburgh in December for example. You also need to consider at what stage in the evening the games are going to be played, explaining the rules of the amazing new version of ring of fire you have created where each card gives the holder special powers to grant various wishes to each participant but only if they have a corresponding card in a different suit is not as easy at midnight as it might be earlier on in the evening. Also, think logistics, you don’t want to be carrying around loads of different board games from bar to bar so try and use small items which can fit in a hand bag.

Have some sort of structure in mind

It is often a good idea to split these hen party games throughout the early part of the night, so for example, you could play one while getting ready to go out, one while at a restaurant, perhaps before dinner or after dessert and then one final game later on in a club. It’s important not to try and pack too much in to one night, people want to relax and chat as well but certainly two or three games slotted seamlessly into the evenings proceedings will make for a far more memorable experience.

What Games to Play

So you’ve considered the practicalities, the timings, location, attendees and everything else and now you just need to figure out which games to incorporate into the celebrations. The main thing is to keep them simple, make sure you don’t need too many props, it’s not convenient to be carrying around large objects all night, just a few small items which can fit into your handbag is ideal. We offer a great selection of hen night games in our online shop but we have also been generous enough to list a few below to get you started.

Some games you can organise yourself:

Scavenger hunt – Make a list of items the hen has to find and give her the night to accumulate all of the things on the list.

Handbags – Everyone takes 2 items from their bag and they all go into new unmarked paper bags, the hen then has to open each unmarked bag and try to guess who owns the items inside.

How well do you know the groom – Before the event corner the groom to be and ask him the answers to loads of questions, things like, where was he born, what colour are his eyes and what is his favourite newspaper. On the night ask all of the questions to the hen, perhaps include a forfeit for each wrong answer.

Something I’ve never done – Each group member takes turns saying something they’ve never done, “I’ve never gone commando” for example. Everybody who has done the deed mentioned has to take a shot.

Male model – (Only really suitable for hen parties at home) provide each group member with an amount of dough, everybody then moulds a male body part out of their dough. To finish the game the group then try to guess which body part everyone has made.

Hunk in a balloon – Get the same number of balloons as there are attendees at the party, put a picture of a man in one of the balloons and then in a darkish room throw the balloons in the air, everybody grabs one and pops it, the winner is the person who gets the picture, perhaps a prize is in order?

Pin the macho on the man - Remember pin the tail on the donkey? Well replace the donkey with a sexy hunk and the tail with a willy and you have yourself one outrageously hot hen night game!
